This temple was the steepest ever. Seriously. It was followed by a hike that I, with my knee, could not make. I was already limping horribly, so we caught a ride to the minshuku (hotel) and took the sky-tram up. I felt lazy until my Dad showed up, having hiked it, and looking like absolute death. The hike up to Temple 12 was an all-day event. Long, tiring, and totally worth it. It really did take us most of the day, and of course, it was the absolute hottest day. This was the day that I wrenched my knee and wanted to kill someone. (more…)
