Humane Society Gala (with Jorja Fox)

Jorja Fox invited me to meet her at the Humane Society’s Gala to end dog fighting in Chicago. Of course I went! Continue reading “Humane Society Gala (with Jorja Fox)”

O’Henro – Our Last Day

Early morning fog and one of the more boring hikes ever (I was making Dante’s circles of hell jokes, among others) lead to one of the best views. Continue reading “O’Henro – Our Last Day”

O’Henro – The Tallest Temple

This temple was the steepest ever. Seriously. It was followed by a hike that I, with my knee, could not make. I was already limping horribly, so we caught a ride to the minshuku (hotel) and took the sky-tram up. I felt lazy until my Dad showed up, having hiked it, and looking like absolute death. No shame in knowing my limits, folks! Continue reading “O’Henro – The Tallest Temple”

O’Henro – Now It’s Getting Hot

More temples, more trees, more roads. With a frog. And the only bread I could find on the whole trip. Not that I mind eating non-bread food. I just started to crave bagels around this point. Continue reading “O’Henro – Now It’s Getting Hot”

O’Henro – One Day, One Temple

The hike up to Temple 12 was an all-day event. Long, tiring, and totally worth it. It really did take us most of the day, and of course, it was the absolute hottest day. This was the day that I wrenched my knee and wanted to kill someone. Continue reading “O’Henro – One Day, One Temple”

O’Henro – Day Three of Hiking

I learned how to follow the train and took the lead. It was a very long day and the worst was yet to come. Continue reading “O’Henro – Day Three of Hiking”

O’Henro – A Full Day of Hiking

A full day in the sun, where it wasn’t too warm, and the road was easy. And I found out how easily I sunburn (yes, I’d worn sunblock). Continue reading “O’Henro – A Full Day of Hiking”

O’Henro – Headed to O’Henro

The first few temples, me getting kitted out, plus a pit stop at Kobe where their automated train stations stunned me. Continue reading “O’Henro – Headed to O’Henro”
